Origin Story
Creative Freedom began in 1967 in Santa Barbara California. John Bradbury and Alan Hazard opened a modest retail shop in Goleta. Our passion for building fast and light boards that worked best on the point breaks of central california, ultimately spearheaded the short board progression and transition from big heavy balsam boards to lightweight and aerodynamic fiberglass and foam core boards.
